Fights in Tight Spaces preview friv game - Card Game John Wick

Fights in Tight Spaces, a turn-based card game about fighting in tight spaces, has been released in Steam Early Access. We tell you how interesting the action friv game turned out to be.

Fights in Tight Spaces is a online game from the developer Friv2Online about an agent who fights against criminal organizations, dealing with opponents by forceful methods. But don't expect it to challenge your reaction speed: on the contrary, the gameplay is slow and thoughtful. However, it doesn't become less tense.
Performing tasks, the protagonist sneaks into the lair of the enemy, who meets him with superior forces. In each of the rooms, where the protagonist gets, he is waiting for several fighters: the goal is to deal with them with minimal losses.
In this case, the player will be helped by cards, of which there are about 150 pieces. Quick kick, push, step to the side, block, counterattack, kick from the turn - each action has its own card. You can use three cards from your hand in one turn, and since they fall randomly, you can count on fortune to be favorable and the layout will work out just right.
The battlefield is laid out in squares and contains various obstacles, such as tables, racks and other elements. Opponents surround the hero, some are armed with small arms, others have increased strength. You need to adjust to the situation: get out of the line of fire and put the enemy under the shot, push a particularly tough enemy out of the location, seal the unprotected bully into the wall.
Some cards, such as the flying kick, work across a square, or can move a player to a neighboring square. So every match becomes something close to a chess game, if not a chess friv game. Attacks are stacked in combos, and in some rooms you can take a break and improve your cards for the accumulated currency (to increase its amount, you need to fulfill additional conditions during missions).
Battles in Fights in Tight Spaces look very stylish. The black-and-white color scheme is reminiscent of SuperHOT, and the idea of fighting in a confined space refers to popular action movies like John Wick. Inexpressive environment doesn't distract from the gameplay, but the main character is easy to distinguish from the enemies - he is always in a suit.
On the other hand, there are still problems with the readability of maps. Attack designations are often similar to each other, and you often have to look at the description to understand what the character will do when using the card. Because of this, you can mistakenly use the wrong card, which will break the entire battle strategy. The lack of localization into Russian can confuse the player even more.
In Early Access Fights in Tight Spaces still contains very little content: the only available mission takes about an hour to complete and, although it boasts some replayability due to random generation, it doesn't offer anything new on repeated playthroughs.
Nevertheless, the project is quite promising, and in some time, when the developers will add new missions and maps, as well as reduce the dependence on randomization, we can recommend it to all fans of turn-based tactics.
